I forgot my cell phone at home today. When I realized my missing phone I went into a full blown panic, hands shaking, cursing all out panic. Thankfully, my husband was there and talked me off the ledge. We talked through my concerns (how do I reach my nanny, my husband, how do I call a cab at the end of my get together that evening to get home, etc). And one by one, he came up with resolutions. I gradually relaxed, accepted his second phone (don't ask me why he has two) to use if I had an emergency, and started my day.
Why are cell phones so important to us? To me? I truly wish I could answer that question. Ironically enough, back when I was in highschool and college, they didn't even exist (unless they were "car phones and permanently attached to your car). What did we do then??? What did our parents do?
So this is a test... how hard is it REALLY to go without a cell phone for a day? Who knows, maybe I will like it so much I will "forget" it more often.
Much love.
