Good morning everyone. Started the morning with a 4 mile run. And let me describe how this went... I think that people think certain people are "made for" running and certain people aren't. The truth is that running is hard. Really. darn. hard. And when you don't do it often as with anything, when you come back to it, it's harder. I started my run at 5:30 AM in pitch black, I ran slowly at first and thought about stopping about 30 times in the first mile, and kept saying, just keep moving. Then I managed to get a groove, and while still painful, sucking air and pressing on, it was worth it. Worth it to turn around at 2 miles and head back home, knowing 50% complete and 2 downhills coming up. Worth it when I hit the water fountain at 3 miles and I was doing it. I. was. doing. it. I was doing that painful thing that I had told myself only 20 minutes before that I couldn't. I conquered the "I can't" and just did. And I can't remember a run in my recent history that was as hard as this mornings. Not even the first one back after having my 2nd child (and boy was that a doozy). Seeing my street was a victory this morning. Because this one, this one was so worth it. And that, my friends, is what life is all about. Have a great weekend!
